The genomic DNA purified by the MagCore® Whole Blood Genomic DNA Extraction Kit is ideal for sensitive downstream applications such as PCR, Real-Time PCR and multiple PCR. Users can count on its reliability to routinely operate genomic DNA extraction.

MagCore® Genomic DNA Whole Blood Kits are designed for consistent extraction of total DNA (including genomic, mitochondrial and viral DNA) from whole blood, plasma, serum, and buffy coat. The pre-filled cartridge contains proteinase K, a chaotropic salt, and guanidine hydrochloride to help with cell lysis and protein degradation. The chaotropic salt supports the strong binding between DNA and the cellulose coated magnetic beads.

After the removal of contaminants, the high-quality DNA is eluted by low salt elution buffer or water. The resulting purified DNA of approximately 20-30 kb in length is suitable for PCR or other enzymatic reactions.

Linearity of DNA yield with sample volume

Linear scaling of isolated DNA yield with varying blood sample volume (20, 50, 80, 100, 150, and 200 μl) by the MagCore® HF16. DNA yields were determined photo spectrometrically (A260).

Genomic DNA was purified from different whole blood samples (0.2 ml and 0.4ml). The isolated DNA was eluted in 100 μl and 200 μl of elution buffer.
